Okay.

Nothing Zuddy or I have done this week will be noticeable to any of you - I'm sure of it.

You see - Zuddy's been patching all of the holes he made while installing the under-cabinet lighting *cough-cough
twoyearsagocough-cough*.

He's almost done, though! Woo Hoo! Zuddy!!

I have a hole to patch as well.....wanna see it?

That bottom hole needs to be filled in.

I'm going to get a wooden dowel approximately the size of the hole to fill it and then I'll throw some wood filler in there, let it dry and then sand and paint it.

Today I scrubbed some nubbins of wallpaper off from the walls. I have one small area left to do, but - man. It looks amazing and it was really hard work.

I used TSP, SUPER hot water, a scrub brush and a microfiber cloth.

Here are the before-and-afters so far:

Here is the wallpaper I'm using and a tile.

Okay. This next picture is a little shocking. I got some p*rn in the mail yesterday.

Totally unsolicited.

I feel so dirty, but I can't stop looking at it! I'm going to hide it from Noodle and Zuddy because I don't want them seeing it. I'll only take it out and look at it when I'm alone.

Please don't judge me. It's not like I bought it or anything.

Ha! You totally requested that catalog didn't you, you naughty girl! Say 10 Hail Marys and 5 Our Fathers, and we'll only tease you a little.

(Is it good?)

The kitchen is looking gorgeous! I can't wait to see what's next!

It's amazing what a little paint and de-wallpapering can do! We've been looking at houses and it gives me hope that we could do great things with a less than lovely kitchen!

Har har. You're funny.

The kitchen's looking grrrrr...eat! (that's great). Can you please post a closer-up pic of the wallpaper?

Wow. Your kitchen is looking fabulous. I desperately want to paint my cabinets white, but husband won't let me. Or he says it's super hard work or something. The term "time-consuming" may have been thrown around a little. ACK.

Ohhhh, few things. LOVE the knob, the glass one. Where did you find that? Love the transformation. So do you ever really use the phone with the cord? I think I would feel restricted. Love the wallpaper. Good job!

PS- I am going to email you something.

You crack me up.

I can't wait until you get the wallpaper up! Are you guys going to do the tile yourselves?

(I'm writing this as I am on a conference call!)

Looking good! Love the kitchen so far. You have made lots of progress. Strippin wallpaper is a nasty job..its on my top ten worst jobs. It falls below operating the chute of a cement truck but above shoveling rocks. lol! The wallpaper is gorgeous. Im checking out subway tiles too.

Too funny - I almost drove the road the other day to get to the Container Store parking lot. The only reason I resisted was because I was taking my daughter to a Dr's appointment.

Your kitchen looks great!

It looks amazing, and having peeled off wallpaper and painted cabinets, etc, I know how much work your photos represent. I love your cabinet knobs. And it's funny but I fixated on your new tea kettle and HAVE to replace my old Corningware one right away now! Also noticed the cat is missing in the after photo....
Good work!
Can you refresh my memory about what your countertops are?

Mrs. Thirkel!!!

Where have you been? Where is your blog, missy?

The countertops are lamintae, made by WilsonArt. They're from the High Definition line and the color is called Deepstar Agate.

Good to see you again!

Martha

I got stalked by a wacko and took it down. I'll put up a new one as soon as I get a faster internet connection and announce it back here. :)

I have copied and pasted your countertop info to my Palm and intend to copy you shamelessly. :)

You inspired me to go buy a new apple green teakettle today, honest injun. (And four placemats from Martha Stewart/Kmart, and boxer shorts and undershirts for my elderly father in law, but I digress).

LOVE LOVE LOVE the finishes you've got going on in here. That wallpaper is going to be absolutely divine, and the subway tile is a great fit. Love the two toned cabinets, and the new counters. I can't wait to see this all done over. I might just have to steal some ideas from you too! :)
