Fresh Air

I'm going to talk about a rather indelicate subject that kind of goes along with the small house thing I last blogged about:  keeping one's bathroom fresh smelling.

We ran out of air freshener a while ago.  I didn't buy any more right away because, quite frankly?  The very reason we use it kind of ruins all of those scents for me.  You know - like the "fresh linen" scent?  Well after a while, it just smells like, "fresh linen covering up the I-just-used-and-abused-the-bathroom" scent.  Which, in a small house, kind of creeps into rooms other than the bathroom.

You know what I'm saying?

Oh - I didn't use and abuse the bathroom.  No, sir.  I'm pretty sure my poopies smell like a spring breeze.

It's another family member that abuses the bathroom on a regular basis.

So, the other day I bought a new scent, hoping for the best:

I knew it wasn't going to work out the way I had hoped when Zuddy came out of the loo saying in his best Australian accent, "Gah.  It smells like someone took a crap in a New Zealand Spring!"

Sigh.

The best way to get rid of a "bad" scent is to light a match. This, of course, will only work for adults. My dad always carries a box of matches when he has to share a hotel room when traveling on business

Noted, Kim! I think a shelf with a candle is in order in our bathroom, no?

There are always matches stashed in my bathrooms. It's magic.

We mostly fling the window open. Sometimes there's match-lighting. There's a tealight candle on a shelf but it only gets lit for ambiance, not odor-control. You're funny.

Too flippin funny. We went from one bathroom to four now, so there is no longer an issue. BUT, I will say that I just bought one of those plug in things from Bath and Bodyworks for our 1/2 bath on the main floor and I LOVE it!

Zuddy is hilarious.I am going to have to equip Mister with some matches.

Dudes. I know I need to do it, but I'm a little afraid to equip zud with the matches for a couple of reasons. First: They make fire. He'll for sure be lighting the matches to look at his fire and start flinging lit matches to and fro. Second: There's that pesky secondary gas problem that goes hand in hand the need for air freshener....he'll blow himself up!

Having a zuddy is a lot of responsibility!!
