Progress!

I know this is taking forever, but I've kind of been taking my time with this painting-all-of-the-woodwork-in-this-house project.

I've got maybe two more coats to go on all of the trim before I can call it done.
The doors are waiting for the Zudster to sand them.

And they're starting to get antsy.

Because they are envisioning 5 coats on themselves and they know it's going to take a while.

Clearly, the doors in this house are very advanced thinkers. Moreso than other doors, I think. And they are almost 100 years old, so that's probably why they are so wise......not to brag.

Here's a "before" shot:

And a "during" shot (same angle):

And the opposite direction:

And the linen closet area (And, no - I didn't 'style' the closet.  I'm not that kind of blogger. Sorry.):

I think it definitely looks brighter....I didn't even realize it until I looked at the photos.  When I look at it in person, all I can see is that the walls need painting and I'm constantly fighting the desire to paint them!  ARGH!!  But I need to just finish the wood work.

Zuddy is still working on Noodle's bed.  It's proving to be a total bee-yotch.  I may have to take it to a professional.

How's your summer going?  It's hot here!  It got up to 100 degrees yesterday!

LOVE it! Looks SO good and really brightened things up. Man I miss hardwood floors...

Blame the bitchiness on the heat, works for me!

Is that all you changed? The paint? It looks tremendously brighter! Good for you. When we moved into a house in Massachusetts in the 60s, the first thing my mother did was paint all the dark varnished woodwork white. And the fireplace. It was awesome (and that was before the word awesome even was invented). Your linen closet looks more "styled" than mine does.
It's 102 here today, same tomorrow but tomorrow will be humid-er. I replaced my inherited pink-tan microfiber loveseat with saggy cushions with... an Ikea Ektorp loveseat! I am so happy. It doesn't even make the other stuff in the house look worse (like painting sometimes does). It makes everything look BETTER.

I really believe the person who made & stained your doors, made & stained ours! They look so similar.

You look like you're making great progress. I've only got 1 and a half doors done so far. This excessive heat is killing my painting mojo!

It looks so much brighter! I thought that you painted the walls, too, because it all looks better.
