It's New Years Eve, People!

Oh! You knew that? Because you're way more in touch with reality than I am?

Oh.

A couple of things I'd like to say.....first of all? It's my sister Myrna's last day of work!!!!!! Woo HOOOOOO! She has 3 weeks off before she starts her new job! There's nothing like a new job! You have no idea what's going on in terms of office politics yet, so there's SUCH a nice honeymoon period! Yay Myrna :)

Also, Myrna wasn't feeling well when we had our big family party on Saturday. She had a raw, red nose.
And you know what? She showed up anyway. How cool is that? Because I don't mind telling you? If there's any inkling of an illness AND an event at the inlaw's?
I'm soooooo skipping the in-laws.
Unless Michelle and Kris are there. Then I'll come.
Anyway.....Myrna played the dice game with us. Because that girl looooves a good game of 6,5,4.

My other sister, Dawn? Freakin' saint, people. And she knows why. And that's all I'm saying on my blog about THAT.

My Mom has had the Noodle for 2 days! Yesterday I slept until 6 am, blogged, then took a nap. Then I stayed in my jammies until about 4pm when I showered and changed into clean jammies.
I like clean jammies.

Oh! Guess what? Big party at my Pal Liz's house tonight! Woo hoo! My girls will all be there. A couple of the girls have aupairs, so we all throw some money at them and they watch the kids for us. The best part is that the hubbies all really enjoy each other.

You know what?

NOW is the time for a house tour!!!! Don't you think???
I had a heckuva time finding a suitable house this time. Nothing was hitting me.....until I saw the windows on this beautiful hunk of house.

Here she is! It looks gigantic, but is only 2500 square feet.

Ha. Only. That's a palace to me :)

Anyway, this one is in a great neighborhood in Minneapolis right by Lake Calhoun. It's got 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a finished basement with a family room. It's about 800k.

Ahhhhh....the white kitchen with the dark counter tops. Love it. And look at the window by the table!!! Cute, no? Heck, I love the table!

The formal dining room. You can tell the house is staged, but at least they didn't "set the table". I really hate when stagers do that. And when they put a breakfast tray on a bed. I hate that too.

The living room.

One of the sun rooms.

The office. Let's blog here together, okay? Okay!

One of the bedrooms. Dang. I just want to crawl into that pretty bed, don't you? And I just love those windows on either side of the pretty bed.

The basement family room. Don't worry....I'll fix it up. It'll be fine. Slap a little paint on those walls and it'll be good as new :)

Please have a safe New Years Eve. I have the feeling that the people who read my blog aren't big drinkers****......but please be very careful on the road tonight. Stay a good distance away from other cars on the road. You never know how much they've had to drink. Not to be morbid or anything, but last year we didn't even go to Liz's because I just had a bad feeling about leaving the house and being on the road. It's just not worth it.

Plus? I like to be in bed early.

Have a safe, healthy evening!

****(Edited to add.....if you enjoy reading this thing? Maybe taking a little nip here and there wouldn't be such a bad idea. It would bring a little sloshy excitement to your life. You probably need it.)

Oh, good, I'm not the only person who stays home because she has a bad feeling about all the winos out on the road on New Year's Eve. Now that my daughter is driving herself around in the evenings, I've said "nothing good happens between 12 and 5 anyhow!" at least a dozen times! Happy New Year! (Love the kitchen in the latest house!)

Martha,

I love everything about his house. Those fun windows are to die for, well not really, but you know what I mean. I would never have to worry about window treatments again, LOL!

Happy New Year to you and thanks or your tours.

Love the house. That's all I have to say about that.

We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve "East Coast Style" this year. Between our best friends, us and 6 kids - none of us can stay up late.

And you better bet there will be some drinkin' goin' on. They're our official drinkin' buddies 'cause they have all the cool gadgets. But - not to worry. About 2 drinks and I'm over the edge.

Happy New Year! Love ya!!

I'm in love with that house! The best thing about the New Year's Day is packing away all that Christmas Crap. My house feels twice as big. Don't forget to eat your black eyed peas (for luck) and greens (for wealth). I've eaten at least one black eyed pea on New Years every year of my life and look how lucky I am! We are staying home, too. Nothing squelches your desire to go out like having a teen-ager out at a party.

Wow. My first mention in your blog, AND it nearly made me cry. Kris and I missed being there for the holidays. Well, mostly we missed it. . . so how WAS Ziemerfest? I have a feeling more than a few people would rub their own noses raw to avoid that family fun time.

I have to work tonight until 11:30, so there's a slight chance I'll be home before 2008. But if not, what better thing could I be doing than helping sick kids have a chance at a better year? Total crap. I would much rather be on the couch with Kris, a nice glass of Oregon Pinot Noir in hand (we're Pacific NWers now, gotta support local!). But that's the life of a pediatric nurse.

Wishing you, Zud, and Noodle the Happiest of New Years,

Michelle

Ok, move me in right now!!! I love that house!

We also stayed in for New Year's, due to a lack of a sitter. I, however, am not a reader that needs a push to take a drink. I might need a pull to get me away from the bottle of wine however!

Hello! I read your blog all the time but had to send you a note this time. Happy New Year to the Ziemer family - we miss you all and hope to see you soon! We ventured out to the Krech household. It was fun but I - yes I - not the children - came down with a wonderful case of pink eye and had to come early. Now I am wearing my glasses and ordering a new set of contacts. LOVE IT! Anyway - hopefully we can catch up soon. I need to do something about the blue paint in my living room (I am done with my husbands paint job) and am looking at slipcovers for the furniture. I would love to tap into your decorating expertise. Send me a note when you have some time. Miss ya!

I'm buying that one! I loved it.

We usually hang with neighbors on New Years Eve, it gets us out, but no driving necessary. This year it was bunco, wild and crazy people we are!

Happy Happy Happy New Year to you, friend!

Love,
Lisa

I love this house! It looks bigger than it is. But of course, after we move in and fill it with all our crapola, it will look smaller than it actually is.
