It's recently built - just this year - but still in the city. It's a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with 3440 square feet of living space for $998k.
Ready? Lets go!
Ahhhhh.......You know what I love? Shingles. House shingles, that is. Not the oozing-sore-herpes-virus-type. (Sorry. That was kind of gross of me. Plus, you just know someone will be searching on one of those words and end up here.) Anyway. Here's the outside.
The kitchen. I would love to see MJ's kitchen with these colors. And that range, baybee. Oh yeah. But recipe developers shouldn't really have a range like that - they're too powerful and would throw off our cooking times. Sweet Jesus, though. I love this kitchen.
The first floor living room. You know what I like about this house? It's casual feel.
The formal dining room. I don't like that chandelier.
The office. Let's blog here, okay? Okay!
The lower level bonus area. Of course, anytime you're paying a million for a house, nothing's really a 'bonus', is it now? No, it's not. It's only a bonus if you get it for free. Just my personal opinion.
Is that better?

This whiner is happier with this newer home... ya' gotta provide some variety to keep the masses happy! I might be more apt to cook with a fabulous kitchen like that... I also like the casual feel of the house, although you are right; the chandalier has GOT to go!
I love the outside of the house..LOVE IT. But I am not all that impressed with the inside... especially if I am going to drop a cool million on this sucker.
However, I do like the kitchen...and that chandelier does look ug-ly!. Where was this one built??
Love the kitchen.
I want a big ol bloggy tour of craftsman style houses. 'K?
I love the outside and the kitchen. I really love the kitchen. The rest isn't so impressive for the price tag though. I want more for my money.
Miss Sarah,
It's near Lake Harriet...location, location, location:)
Okay, Sister Hunny, you've got it. Craftsman.....
You know what? I need to start answering you all more often, don't I?
Michelle, I wonder how much this bad-boy would be in Seattle?
I went through this one, and truly it is much more impressive in person. Great house, I think worth the price tag. . .
I'm sorry, truly, but this one doesn't get me all tingly, either. It's something I can't describe very well, something to do with the proportions of the rooms and the ratio of windows to floor space or something. And there's too much brown everywhere. Have you ever seen http://realestalker.blogspot.com? I like the "little" beach cottage in today's post, there.
You know what I like about this house? It looks kind of old.
Im going to post a million dollar beach house, Out here where there is such a vast majority of sand where you dont even see any houses, a million is a huge amount..
stay tuned... Kids, breakfast, school, margarita, Ill be back in a minute.

You guys know Im just kidding, right?

I was prepared to hate it, but I actually really liked the inside. The kitchen is amazing, and the woodwork and casual feel throughout saved it.
The price in Seattle? I'm guessing it would have a view of the Sound or Lake Washington or at LEAST a respectable mountain view, so probably $3-4 mil. Compared to Minneapolis/St. Paul, real estate seems to be at least double the price out here for your average single family homes, and as the price goes up, it goes up exponentially. Everyone blames Microsoft for the out-of-reach housing market.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Sister Honey Bunch for suggesting a Craftsman tour and Martha for agreeing to it! And Martha, don't forget that Sarah tagged you for your three favorite recipes!
Lisa, your morning routine cracked me up!
Guess what...we've been getting bids to add a room onto our house. Your house tours are making me eager to get this project going!
Beautiful home! I like the old ones too though. Love the kitchen. I hate cooking, but I might be able to learn to like it if I had a kitchen like that.
Love it! The curb appeal and the kitchen are awesome!
Well I liked your other houses, but I am thankful that you posted this one, because I've always thought that if we ever built a house I would want it to look like THAT. I LOVE seeing new constructions that have some...well...imagination. I'm saving those pictures. :)
MAN, I GOTTA TELL YA- I HAVEN'T SEEN A GARAGE I LIKE YET.. UNLESS THAT'S WHAT THE BONUS ROOM IS.AND IF THAT'S THE CASE, YOU DON'T WANT TO GET MIXED UP WITH SICKOS LIKE THAT. LET'S RE-FOCUS HERE...
I'll go anywhere you take us...as long as you keep cracking the jokes!!
Linda
Love that house! Especially the exterior and the kitchen. I could cook there.
