House Tour!

I think I let you all down....didn't I, Interpeeps?

You didn't like that last house, did you?

My cousin Claire came over with Franklin ('memba Franklin?) last night and we talked about that monster of a house (about 4 miles away from here) I posted.

She no likey.

She thought it was a disgusting display of wealth. Well.....she didn't actually say that, but I know my cousin. She was thinking it.

So I looked for another house for y'all.

This is it, people.

It's in a GREAT neighborhood.....within walking distance to Whole Foods, a bank, florist (for when your Zuddy loving partner wants to surprise you with flowers), PAINT STORE and a great, tree-hugging college in which one could study for a nice Master's degree. All the things a girl needs.

Are you ready for it's cute, cottagy adorableness???

Are you?

BAM!

Awwww....how sweet is that? It was built in 1916. It's cozy - 3 bedrooms and 1 bath with an unfinished basement. About 1000 square feet for 269,900.

How 'bout this front porch, huh? Sweet.

I love the living room (20x12). I was scrambling to find a house with white woodwork. 'Cause I know Mrs. Thirkel prefers it.

The dining room is 12x12.

Okay, this is where you'll have to use your imagination......the kitchen is 10x10.

I'm sure there are some people who would show you a big ugly monster of a house to get you to appreciate the cuteness of a house with a sub-standard kitchen.....but I'm not one of them.

I would never use a tactic like that.

I simply don't have the smarts.

Or the strategic mind for such antics.

Maybe we could switch the sink and fridge around.....what do you think?

The "master" bedroom - 16x12

Another one, 13x9

The rear of the house - there's a 2 car garage and the lot is 124x50.

What do you think of this one?

I love it! I don't think it's adorable *outside, but it has potential. I love the white woodwork and appreciate SO much your taking the time to find it for me. :P I don't know about that kitchen... but it's not any worse than mine, sort of, and we can glam it up a bit. You can't switch the sink because of the cost of moving the plumbing relative to the benefit, is what *I think.

I wasn't thrilled with yesterday's house. I like this one better. :)

Do you think the small, high window in the back yard shot is the dining room? If it was something else maybe we could bump it out a few feet. Or at the least put in a bigger window.

Cute...

But my favorite part of the whole house is the front porch. They did a great job decorating.

I was going to say something else but I forgot. It's too early in the morning.

The porch is darling! I'm not sure how excited I'd be to hang out in that backyard... it has a ton of potential though!

Sweet little baby Jesus!!!

Now thats the way I like it, Fartster. Cute and cuddly. It will get me every time! That front porch is totally swoonworthy.
We would work with that kitchen,Villa could move a few waterlines, and voila.. and the back yard! Heavens to Betsy, that will not be on the market long.
your the best house tour guide in the whole blogosphere.

Love the Living Room and the Dining room...may be the same color as my new bath. I could work with the kitchen; I really don't need a fancy kitchen to get my cooking mojo on.

Now I will look at the conspicuous consumerism house..I just know I will hate it.

It's absolutely darling. My kind of place.

This house was very charming. I loved the white porch swing and built in cabinets or bookshelves surrounding the fireplace. Wish I had them!!

SEE MART- YOU CAN'T JUST GO WILLY NILLY SWITCHING SINKS AROUND. THIRKELLGIRL'S GOT IT RIGHT. I DON'T THINK COASTAL NEST HAS SEEN WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I STRAP A TOOL BELT ON. IT'S LIKE MATT FOLEY WITH A HAMMER.

That's a really cute house. I can only imagine the damage that would be done in such a cozy space by my three wild children, although...there is an unfinished basement, isn't there?
Hmmm... I like it.

The kitchen isn't too small for me. Maybe I could blame my culinary disasters on the smallness of the kitchen.

I was just looking at the kitchen again, and am wondering what the back-story is on the knife block being on top of the fridge. Lol.

I just read the comments, and all I can say is ISWEARIWASNOTFLIRTINGWITHZUDDY when I said you couldn't move the sink. Lol.

Listen Thirkell....

Zuddy is MINE. Don't start your 'sink sweet-talk' with him. LAY OFF A SISTA'S MAN. Ha!

Rhonda, my new favorite stalker-friend....OMG. THAT HOUSE!! Woo HOOO!

Auntie Lees - sorry, sister. Dead battery in the camera, so I couldn't get a shot of Mr. Cutie Franklin. He is just YUMMY though. I'll get one next time.

This house is so much more my style. I love the front porch, and I *adore* the covered radiators in the living room and dining room. And the white woodwork. And the built-ins. And the wood floors. Adorable.

Really a cute house, but $226,000 for 1000 square feet, for the love of Pete......you could get an additonal 2000 sq. feet for that in my Texas town. I do love the front porch!!

What a cute house!

I guess prices are all relative because prior to reading LoriE's comment I was going to comment that I thought it seemed like a great deal for the money.

Since you're a fan of house tours, I'll share one. My friend just put her place on the market earlier this week. The woodwork isn't painted (sorry!) but the yard/landscaping is wonderful:
