The half-painted garage. Tragic.
Don't worry...it's supposed to be nice on Sunday and I'm buying more paint today. I SWEAR we will be finishing this project.
Swear.
Pinkie-swear.
I just typed SWEAR so many times that it looks kind of funny now......
Anyway, here's another shot of the snow looking out at our neighbor's house:
Click on the photo to enlarge it and see if you can tell what's different about the flag.
So, yeah. That kitchen was totally depressing wasn't it?
Well, don't worry. Your old pal Marty here was searching the Finished Kitchens blog for a fabulous kitchen makeover.
Oh - there are tons of them on that site. Total kitchen love.
But I wanted to find one that was realistic. A normal everyday kitchen that was given JUST a facelift.
No $10,000 ranges from France.
No kitchen designer.
NO custom cabinets.
A facelift that could've been performed on that sweet little Dutch colonial's kitchen that was RUINED by that horrid circa 1992 makeover.
Maybe the person that buys that cute little Dutch colonial will want to do what these people have done.
See here? Do you see the ugly cabinets and the icky blue countertops?
And Hello? Look at that floor.....my kitchen floor exactly (except darker).
Well, paint is a powerful thing, isn't it?
Here's another shot. The lighting isn't as good, but you can still see how the floor disappears......
And did you see Rue's makeover? Check it. Awesome.

When I heard that you got snow, I didn't realize that you meant that you got serious snow that actually stuck around! Here in Virginia, schools would have been closed! HA!
I also prefer the real makeovers...they are way more inspiring...I mean, who can't have a gorgeous new kitchen if they have $100K to spend? In fact, if you have a $100K to spend on a kitchen & it turns out ugly, I want to slap you :)
Ha! I love the hockey stick flagpole!
That kitchen makeover is stunning. That colors are beautiful, and the floor really does disappear. I love how the window over the sink looks in the new surroundings. Great job finding us an inspiring kitchen makeover.
OK! I KNOW YOU'RE THINKING; "WHAT KIND OF MORON PAINTS A HOUSE FROM THE BOTTOM UP?". WHAT YOU SEE IS AS HIGH AS I COULD REACH. I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT PROHIBITS MY USE OF LADDERS. I DID MY SECTION FIRST, AND RAN POOR MART OUT OF PAINT.
I LOVE the hockey puck flag!!!! I have to send that up to my sister on the Range as they are big hockey fans. I love the black paint in the kitchen remodel. It is amazing what paint can do. We have snow here too and it caught us off-guard as well. I am praying for a late Indian Summer, join me and maybe it will come true. Good luck finishing your garage, looks like you only have a couple of hours left to go. We have a bunch of our siding laying on the grass under tarps and snow and it is a yucky feeling.
Ha! I love the hockey stick flag pole...that is so Minnesotan!
